yo just came bk frm chaing mai! it was a great breakaway from boring hols... i shall briefly talk, but some of them are real fun!!!
1st day: our stupid plane was delayed cos of some toilet disfunction so we had to cancel our plans to go to the flower exhibition. sigh. so sad. and so in the end we went to the night bazaar where we shopped. not much tho. but it was rehli crowded cos it was a long hol frm fri to mon for the thais and so there were lots of ppl! our hotel was quite big--connected rooms. haha. yup 1st day nth much.2nd day: we had a private tour to the elephant camp at chiang dao where we fed elephants, watched them perform and rode on them. it was quite fun, i think the 2nd best day of the whole tour. and then we went for rafting. the really slow one for u to catch the scenery. so it wasn't really exciting, it was just peaceful. later we went to see the tribes--lisu (that was in the middle of the elephant ride) and long neck karen. yup. their village was quite nice, small but nice. at night--shopping again at the wkend market. it was a sunday then. ok shopping was not very fun... 3rd day: we took a really really really long ride to the northern thailand--chiang rai-- which took 3h to see more tribes and the golden triangle. the tribes were fairly similar and we went to the opium museum. the golden triangle was quite nice to see lah, i mean after 3h ride i'd better enjoy it. 3rd day was alot of travelling... total i think we took like 7h travelling. at night we went to this dinner and dance thing at a cultural place. they call it khantoke dinner. and we got to sit down on the floor to eat and after dinner there was performances. quite interesting, there were also like diff tribal dances and rituals. ok. so the night was more interesting.4th day: my FAVE day of the whole tour!!! after a 2h ride up a mountain to the mae taeng river, we went WHITE WATER RAFTING!!!! we got to sit in this rubber dinghy and had to paddle in the water, going down really fast rapids. b4 that they have this briefing to tell u how to paddle, how to save yrself if u fall into the water. and during the briefing i was quite freaked out cos it sounded really dangerous. my mum was thinking of backing out. haha. but once we got into the waters, it was really fun!!! abit of risk but it was FUNFUNFUN!!! there was a captain to tell us when to paddle and to give instructions. our captain was really gd and he was very nice. and then there was this boat full of captains (the ppl there) and they kept splashing water at us. LOL. but they are a very united team and they would wait for all the boats to go down the very fast rapids b4 going on. on the first dangerous rapids, i couldn't hear instructions and i fell off the boat... LOL. but i wasn't scared cos i was holding on to the rope and my captain pulled me up. hehe... my captain's real nice, he'll play games on the boat with us when the waters are calm and no rapids ahead. we got totally soaked! so it was VERY VERY VERY fun and i'm so going again if i ever come to chiang mai again. hahah. love the sport! love the ppl! this para too long liao i gotta start a new para. at night we went to eat this northern thai dish called khao soi. smth like curry noodles. quite nice, spicy. the way they serve it was really interesting. they had many bowls of spices for u to "tiao wei". haha. ok so that was day 4.
5th day: in the morning we went for a short walk across our hotel to the market and so on... nth much... and then we went to the airport where my mum shopped (again). but there were only 3 shops in the airport waiting area so nth much to buy... the airport's quite new. so we took a flight back to s'pore and after a meal at the airport foodcourt, we went home. yup. so that's my trip. i would say its quite fun during the 5 days. esp day 4. and i'm looking forward to camp this mon. haha... after camp it'll be get ready for school... =.= ok that's all. piano concert tmr and i hope i dun screw!!! shiyun.
